EV Joint Venture Between Honda and Sony

Honda and Sony signed a joint venture agreement to create a new company in 2022 with plans for EV sales by 2025. Honda will be in charge of manufacturing the vehicles using its facilities, while Sony is said to be responsible for building the platform for the mobility service.

This new company will be called “Sony Honda Mobility Inc.”. Honda has previously committed to only selling battery-electric and hydrogen fuel-cell vehicles by 2040. Sony has had an electric crossover called the Vision- S 02 Prototype on display and has intentions for making a Vision-S 01 electric sedan as well.
