Ford Extends Downtime Affecting Escape and Corsair

Ford Motor Co. has again extended the temporary closure of its Louisville Assembly Plant for another week as it battles a software issue on the refreshed Escape and Lincoln Corsair crossovers.

The plant’s building chairman, Brandon Reisinger confirmed that the downtime will now last until March 6th. “We do have a new re-flash to address the programming issue we have with the clusters,” he told employees. “This re-flash does appear to be good. In all of the testing, they’ve had no issues so far. I think they finally have their issue resolved.” Reisinger had previously said the problem involved software in the cluster that would have required a trip to the dealership.
