Ford to Discontinue Transit Connect After 2023
Ford canceled plans to build a next- generation Transit Connect, and will stop selling the vehicles in the U.S. by the end of next year. Ford has said the Transit Connect will only continue as a Europe only model. The small van segment has decreased in size for available options throughout all the manufactures, Nissan has ended production of the NV200 and other commercial vehicles, and GM has cut the Chevy City Express Van. With the Transit Connect often leading the smaller van segment the U.S., sales have fallen 15% this year to 15,919 through July, Ford’s other commercial vehicle sales remain a key business for them.
